Draft. This page has not been reviewed by a lawyer and has blanks in [BRACKETS] to fill in. The list of outside services must match what the live site actually uses. It must be finished before the service is offered to the public.

This policy explains what information [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME] ("we", "us") collects through LawnBiz Made Easy, why, and who it is shared with.

1. What we collect

About you and your team: name, email address, and a password, which we store only in scrambled (hashed) form. For the business: its name, phone, email, home base address and time zone.

What you enter about your customers: names, phone numbers, email addresses, property addresses, gate codes and notes, prices, work records, invoices and payment records.

Location: when someone taps Start or Finish on a lawn, the app asks their phone for its location at that moment and saves it with the work record. The app does not track location in the background.

Receipt photos: photos of receipts that an owner attaches to an expense. They are made smaller on the phone before being sent to us.

On your phone: so the app can be used where there is no signal, it keeps a copy of your day's list and customer details in the browser's storage on the phone, along with any changes waiting to be sent. This copy is removed when you sign out. Anyone who can unlock the phone and open the app could see it, so sign out of a phone you are giving away or sharing.

Technical: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and ordinary server logs such as the time of a request and the network address it came from. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Payment details: card numbers are entered on Stripe's pages and go to Stripe, not to us. We receive only whether your subscription is active.

2. How we use it

To provide the service: showing your information to you and the team members you invite, building invoices, planning routes, billing your subscription, sending emails you ask for such as password resets and invoices, keeping the service secure, and fixing problems. We do not sell your information or your customers' information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with

Only the companies that help us run the service, and only what each needs:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a buyer if the business is sold, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

4. Your customers' information

You decide what you enter about your own customers, and you are responsible for having the right to keep it. We handle it on your behalf to provide the service. If one of your customers asks us about their information, we will refer them to you.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists, including while it is read-only after a trial or subscription ends. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete its information within [30] days, apart from backups, which are overwritten within [30] further days, and records we must keep by law, such as records of payments to us.

6. Security

Information is sent over encrypted connections, each business's information is kept separate from every other's, and passwords are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information we will tell you as the law requires.

7. Your choices

You can see and change most of your information in the app. To get a copy of your information, correct it, or have your account deleted, email [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Depending on where you live you may have further legal rights over your information; contact us to use them.

8. Children

The service is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app.
